Hi there fellows. I bought a bridge pickup for a jazz bass and the title said: Genuine FENDER American Standard Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup.
I just got it today and it is a Made in Mexico and above the S/N is written "Pickup Bass Jazz Lead".
The seller replied to my complaint: "These pickups come stock on American Standard Fender Jazz Bass, however they are made in Mexico."
Is that true? Here's the link:

I'm looking forward to hearing the responses from someone who knows. I'm thinking it's probably true, what IS made in America anymore?

American Standard bass pickups are made in the USA not Mexico. That is one of the reasons to buy a USA instrument.

Agreed. You got a pup for a Fender Standard Jazz, not a Fender American Standard Jazz.

If it's on the internet, it has to be true. Image

This is the answer I got:

Check this service diagrams on fender's website:
http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf

and here's the pickup part number:

11 0033746000 Pickup, Bridge, Am. Std. J-Bass

That's what's on the pickup I bought. And the serial number on Standard (mexican) J-Bass is different.

It is then legit, the pickup used on American Standard J-Bass is Made in Mexico.
