Hi fellas,

My name is Ronan.
I bought a Fender American Standard jazz bass 019-3700-705, and its serial number is US1213XXXX

it appears to be a 2012 model but it comes with the old sticker as my '11 American Standard.

i have seen some other stickers of 2012 models, and they're some sort of round-shaped stickers

i saw a video made by Session about the 2012 model, and it's of old sticker as well.

Is there any official explanations of this please?

PS. the model numbers for American Standard Jazz are still 019066

Are you referring to the headstock decal? If not the decal, what sticker are you talking about? They come with stickers on the pickguard but people take them off pretty quick or the local dealer removes them during the post-sale setup prep.

I wouldn't worry about it...they likely have an abundance of pick guards that already had the stickers on them.

There is plastic covering the guard and the stickers are over this plastic layer. Any real shop removes all this plastic film stuff as part of the post sale setup for you. It is there to protect the guard from pick marks during demo plays in a real world brick and mortar shop. This plastic really needs to come off before the instrument is played on a regular basis. Often you need to remove the knobs to get the plastic film completely off and sometimes even loosen the pot nuts.

I never pay any attention to the stickers myself because I know they are going bye-bye pretty quick. The plastic film and it's adhesive residue can cause discoloration and surface damage on some pickguard materials. It is sort of like the plastic over the seats on a brand new car in that the dealer is supposed to take it off in the vehicle prep.
