Certainly yes! In my neighborhood there's a shop with only lefties.

I'm not lefty, but I think that it should be possible to get any model made lefty. It just isn't right not to offer lefties in all models.

A month or so ago I got a rough quote from the Fender Custom Shop through a local dealer here in South Florida to make me a LEFTY Geddy Lee Signature Bass. Since it would be handmade by ( I am assuming) the same techs who build Geddy's basses and not made in Japan like the RH ones they sell in stores, the price was obviously sky-high. Discounted by my dealer, it came out to somewhere in the $4000 range. So yes, they will build you one if you really want it that bad! My solution? I bought a LH mexican Jazz Bass brand new, and I am customizing it myself by installing a Badass Bridge II, upgraded pickups, Rotosound strings, and I am sanding the lacquer off the neck ala Geddy style. It won't have the maple neck with the inlays, but it will sound great at a mere fraction of the price. I voted yes on the LH model vote, but it's going to take more than 11 votes for Fender to change their mind I'm afraid! It's simple economics, kids... 11 Lefty players aren't worth it for a guitar company to re-tool a left hand model, it's the price we pay for being cooler than conventional RH players! peace out y'all...

Do we drive on the left side of Hwy 1? Kidding - yes, Fender should offer the option. It might cost more due to the less demand, but the option should be available.

I say "yes" as well. I am interested in ordering a Lefty version of the John 5 Triple Telecaster but not sure who to contact first. If it costs over the $1500 mark, I will have to go to another company and I REALLY want to stick with Fender guitars.. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks in Advance!

dude, yeah it's gonna cost a lot more than $1500 for them to build you a custom Telecaster, methinks.
My solution since I posted this thread?
I am building my own frikkin' LH bass! I have already customized my LH jazz bass, and I have it sounding as good as Geddy's model ( I've compared them). I am now building a second model. There are all kinds of parts available online thru eBay and other sources. I'm getting a LH body, a Geddy Lee maple neck. I am having a custom vintage wiring kit made for it. I am designing my own custom pickguard. The total cost will be under a grand, and I will have a LH bass people will drool over when it's finished. So, I have seen the light and it be smokin' !!

It is still in the design stages, so it won't be finished for another month or so, but here is an artist's conception. I am thinking of calling it the "Ziggy Lee Bass"
It will have Geddy Lee pickups like my present one. Vintage wiring. Badass II Bridge. Of course the GL neck, which is backwards peghead, but hey, it's a hybrid instrument... And of course my own pickguard design. Whaddya think?
