I just got a 1993-94 Fender Japan Jazz Bass for 18,000 yen today, which also happens to be my first bass guitar. I wasn't too crazy about the colour at first, but it has started to grow on me. It is also very comfortable to play and seems to have all of its stock stuff on it. What do you guys think of it? Also, tell about your first bass and post pictures down below.

My first bass was a brand new 1970 Japanese NORMA for Christmas! :D My first Fender was a 1972 Precision. I switched to a left-handed 1976 Precision which I ordered sight unseen in '75 and just waited for Fender to make it's annual run of leftys. I still have that bass and will never sell it. Looks; Sounds, and Plays Great! 8)

My first bass was a 1960 something Hagstrom given to me by a family friend. That bass is still surviving and being played to this day.

First bass was a borrowed Hagstrom. Great neck. I then bought a Hofner Club Bass at a pawn shop on music alley in NYC.

So, Hofner is the answer.

I got my first bass in 1978 ......it was a Japanese made ElDegas Precision bass copy, it was White with black pickguard & Maple neck & fretboard...........it was a very well made bass considering it was a knock off, ........two yrs later in 1980 I got myself a Neck through body Japanese made Ibanez musician Bass ..I think the body was Mahogany.....( I wish I still had this bass,....Sting was playing a fretless version around the same time.)

My first was a Coral, which was a Danelctro, bought new in 1967, weird thing about it, the tuners were small, real hard changing strings.

My first bass, after 20 years of playing guitar, was a horrrrrrrible Peavey passive soapbar pickup. I traded a beautiful early 90's American Standard w/ JB Jr. in the bridge, a cool rails in the neck, plus a guitar amp for the Peavey bass, a 130 watt Peavey head, and a sealed Randall 4x10 cab.

Foolish, foolish thing to do. But, I wanted to get into bass. I ended up refinishing the bass, and pulling the frets out, filling the lines with maple. Glad that's in the past, but really wish I had that Strat.

A friend of mine in 1969 bought a used Coral Bass. His name was Ron Also. That was his first bass.
