Unfortunately these pickups are only available for 4-string basses.

I'm sure a 5 string bass version of the Super 55 Jazz bass pickups will be made available in the next year if there's a demand for them......

There's no doubt the pickups are defective.

There might have been a few customers with a problem with a particular pickup, but as a blanket statement, that is absolutely false.

I have them, and I love them. Crystal clarity, great tone, and not a hint of noise.

They're a bit more expensive than your standard single-coil, but well worth it. Get some, you won't regret it. You might not ever go back to single coils.

Fender doesn't offer a 3-pickup Jazz Bass.

This puppy has strong Bootsy influences :P

If there's a Demand for 6 string pickups,.... then Fender will make them. Right now there's not an overwhelming demand...... Fender's big Bass Market is the 4 string bass market,...accessories & all... then it's the 5 string Market...

And your point is...?

I never said it was a Fender bass. (For the record, it is a licensed-by-Fender Warmoth Jazz. I had it custom routed for three pickups. The bridge pickup is in the normal position, and the two neck pickups are spaced 2" edge-to-edge.)

My post and this thread are both about Fender Super 55 Jazz Bass pickups. The pickups in that not-quite-Fender 3-pickup Jazz Bass are... Fender Super 55 Jazz Bass pickups.

No Bootsy influences here. From a few feet away, it looks pretty conservative.

Here is a better picture of the Fender Super 55 split-coil pickups, mounted on a Fender licensed body:

Thanks for the clarification.

Your Warmoth build is not a Bootsy bass but the pickup configuration is pretty close to one of his Star Basses.

Bootsy's main Star bass uses five Jazz Bass pickups.

Man, I'd love to know how the controls on those basses are set up.

You're just going to have to get bigger eyes. I think that is the answer yes. :D

Are you unable to move the pic from side to side? Just curious but that killed the cat I know........ I like how I type like Yoda I do.

I hear ya Stroker Vance,......I say the same thing to myself every time someone complains that a photo is too big,...... hey folks all you have to do is navigate through it by sliding the light blue bar at the bottom of the monitor screen from left & Right,(problem solved!) there's no need to give someone posting a larger photo a hard time because the photo is a little large ..........larger photos are easier to see & at the end of the day there's more important things in life to worry about..... IMO :)
