The American Standard Jazz deserves a stacked-knob configuration and asthtray covers!

I know Fender did a limited-edition 50th Anniversary model in 2010, but since the American Standard series got Custom Shop upgrades I think the four-string version would look much better with a hint of early 1960s flavours - such as a stacked knob layout and chrome ashtray covers - though the stacked concentric knobs are an unique feature for the AVRI '62.

Why not making a FSR American Standard Jazz with those features?

I agree! As to why Fender doesn't do it, my opinion would be that they have done enough studying of buying trends to see that the buying public favors certain instruments.

'62 ReIssue is already available that way. As if you didn't know. I'm just amazed at how many Jazz bass variations actually exsist. :)

The AV62 reissue is also available in a 3-knob version.

I understand the nostalgia for these features, but as someone who has owned a few Jazzes over the years I understand why both these features went away. My first Jazz had the chrome covers and I promptly took them off and never looked back. As a fingerstyle player, the only thing the chrome covers did was get in the way. As for the stacked knobs, the best configuration that fender has ever come up with in my opinion is that on the American Deluxe with the vol/pan/3-band boost-cut. The problem I have with the stacked knobs is that it's too hard to tell at a glance where things are set, and it's harder in mid-song to move just one knob without touching the other.
