Take a look at this '78 Jazz.
Is it me or do I see drip marks?
Bummer. I suppose for that price you could do a proper refin.

It's really hard to see the refin if it is one. I know that Laquer can get soft and have blemishes from age etc.

In the neck plate view i'm sure I see drip marks...not a sag from the laquer. Dripping to the right.
The guitar looks too shiny also to me.

I'm sure it isn't original anyway. Still a good price for a player class 78 Jazz that is about half the going rate, but the fatter pickups are absolutely not stock and you can't "unrout" the routing expansions which would knock it out of consideration for me. Yeah you could cover them with chrome covers but I'd know they were there and it would bother me. That bothers me more than any finish imperfections.

The more I look at it the weirder it gets.
Blotchiness near the bridge. The pickup issues as you say Dave.
To me it looks like a frankenstein slap together maybe with a '78 neck but in any case I'm not going near it. I may give the guy a call just to see what he says.

The neck - body interface is really sloppy and there is a large gap. I've never seen a Fender with such a lousy neck fit. My vote leans to Frankenbass.
