I know when one is just right, and that's how I feel about the JB. There's absolutely nothing about it that I want to mod, and the feel is just right.

I feel the same way about the Jazz basses I own, I wouldn't do any modifications to them
why mess with perfection............Hah!! now I should also be getting free gear for my Jazz Bass accolades... :D

My 01 Sunburst Jazz is just like that- total stock and I wouldn't think of modding it. I don't even have a pic of it- it's so "just right " like it is. :D

I always found it amusing to listen to the BBA album. (Beck, Bogert and Appice).

A monster band and great rock album. Timmy was such a ferocious bass player, and had his NY buddy Carmine with him, that Beck used about a dozen overdubs to try and make up for what Timmy was laying down in one track. I'm sure it wasn't insecurity
Jeff is used to ruling the roost, so having a rhythm section team like that must have been challenging for him. I am not sure why they didn't stay together, but I have my ideas.

Timmy played a Tele bass in those days. I hope he can have a guest pass into this JB thread.

Playing bass since '69.

Timmy gets a pass. That's a great album. Beck is still a great player, and I love to watch videos of live performances just to see how a human can get that sound.

Beck is a guitar genius who has really come into his own. His current band is great too. I was riffing on insecurity issues with SOME guitar players. Even great ones.

Beck Bogart & Appice .....wow what a solid debut,......there have been times where I imagine what could have been if they would have stuck it out to release 3 or 4 albums but that being said shortly after leaving BBA Jeff Beck went on to release a couple of classics
( Blow by Blow & Wired)..........I've always been blown away with how Jeff Beck changes & adapts with the trends & times & constantly still puts out great albums.. :)

Talk about career paths. Beck has gone on to be a guitar icon. Good for him. For the average listener of rock music Carmine might be remembered for playing with Rod Stewart. Of Bogert, most would probably say, "Tim who?" As a bass player who picked up my first bass in '69 (love at first song) after 4 years of playing guitar, it was Bruce, Casady, Entwhistle and McCartney who influenced me. It was a year or so later that Bogert, and the Motown grooves of Kaye and Jamerson came to my awareness. Bogert always had a great Motown influence. Speaking of that influence, let me not forget John Paul Jones.

Been listening to Zeppelin since 70 (born in 62), and I think I'm just now appreciating how much Jones contributes to those songs. Genius. Plays for the song.
