hello fellow fender jammers, i'm new to this forum ( recently bought a J Bass) and i was wondering about lowering the action of the strings. is it something that i can do simply by lowering the the 4 parts of the bridge (the ones that use those tiny allen-keys)? or is it something that i have to adjust the trus rod with? if someone could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated. i apologize if this question has already been answered, i tried looking at the previous posts and still was unsure about what to do. thanks

This is taken from the Fender website under support/set-up guides/fender basses.

Fender Bass Set-up Guide

If you don't feel confident in "tinkering" with it, take it to your local luthier or guitar shop. They generally charge between to $20 and $40 usually. A bass with a proper set-up to your liking is extremely smooth and effortless to play. Hope this helps.
