Post subject: Bass damage by metal (rear)

Hola, recien compre un fender american std jazz bass, 3 tone sunburst, en 2011, solo se ha usado en una ocasion, es normal que se marque en surcos pronunciados, por la parte trasera con la hebilla de un cinturon?

Sucede esto en todos los modelos?
He visto bajos de los 80´s, sin danos tan marcados como este... cambia la madera o el barniz utilizado?
I would like to know if particularly this kind of damage is guaranteed or if it is part of the normal use.

You may get more answers to your question if you post in the Spanish Language section located at the bottom of the main index page.

However, the finish on the rear of almost all guitars, not just Fenders, will scratch and wear through the outermost layer of finish if subjected to what you described in your post. If you have ever seen a "Road Worn" model Fender, that's what you can expect to see after a few years of gigging...

Bienvenido al foro de Fender. Si tocas el bajo eléctrico en la posición adecuada, será muy por encima de la hebilla de su cinturón y esto no va a suceder. El problema es que la mayoría de los jugadores, especialmente los inexpertos dejó honda demasiado bajo. No está cubierto por la garantía o se considera un defecto. Todas las guitarras están sujetos a este. Es pintura sobre madera. Eslingado su instrumento bajo puede mirar a la moda, pero si la hebilla del cinturón toca la madera que se va a obtener lo que se denomina "erupción hebilla" en el final. Este es el desgaste normal de juego. La gente como yo, con una gran barriga, no tiene que preocuparse por ello nunca llega a ninguna parte cerca de la hebilla del cinturón. Mi consejo es comer más alimentos y beben más cerveza.
