any tips on playing at the same time with a guitar and haing it and the bas sound good togeather

What? I can't comprehend your question...you mean play the bass and guitar at the same time? Put a fill between changes instead of playing the root notes you mean? Can you clarify?

Play fills when parts change, could be arpegios, could be 5ths. I like to fill when breaks or part change, some times with triplets is nice to change it up. Go an octave lower than the guitar you can feel the music get heavier if you're into heavy music. Learn the scales, it will help things to progress naturally when you're putting fills in.
