No I don't think they came with JBL's but whatever they were they worked all the time , lasted forever and sounded at least decent compared to what we have these daize. In 1972 they sounded very good and were somewhat affordable. Get you some! How's everything over at SLC?

I like Kippers. My first amp was a red sparkle Kustom 200 with a 2 X 15 cab. It was pretty & pretty loud. It even looked loud!

What speakers did your Kustom have?

I'm pretty sure they were C.T.S. which grew up to become todays Eminence.

Yes, CTS (formerly Chicago Telephone Supply) made speakers for Kustom along with Fender, Ampeg, National, Gibson...you name it. Often JBL upgrades were available for an upcharge but I don't think Kustom offered the upgrade.

However CTS did not become Eminence or grow up to become Eminence. CTS, a giant electronics company with manufacturing facilities worldwide, is still in business as an independent entity and is listed on the NYSE with the symbol CTS and quite alive and well.

Eminence Speakers was founded by Bob Gault in Eminence, Kentucky USA. At one time Mr. Gault worked as an engineer for CTS, but he also had worked for Magnavox too. However neither CTS nor Magnavox have any formal association with Eminence Speaker LLC. They are all separate corporations. CTS is alive and well. Compared to CTS (founded in 1896) the relatively new Eminence (started about 1966) is a young whipper snapper upstart.
