Seems I read nothing but praise about it. I was thinking about picking up a new 08 American Standard Jazz but now I'm thinking I might get the Geddy instead. The Am. Standard is a little more but comes with a hardshell case, so adding the case to the Geddy makes them about the same pricewise.

Any thoughts/opinions either way out there?

I own the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass and I love it and I didnt really mind the gig bag until I found it doesnt fit in a case I already had. The American Jazz bass is on my list of things to buy but Id buy that first if you want both because the case will fit all Jazz and Precision basses that you buy after it.

I still haven't bought a new jazz. Probably will have to wait until next year.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the 62 AV reissue, but that could change a dozen times by the time I buy.

When the GL was first introduced, I read a lot of complaints about neck twists and warps, and a bunch of these bad ones were being unloaded on unsuspecting buyers on eBay.

Apparently this problem has been dealt with as I haven't seen any beefs about this in the past year or two. It's a very thin neck, so it bears watching.

Learn how to accurately check a neck for trueness and be careful when you buy -- especially if it's a used bass.

Good luck!
