AHHHH--HAAAA ! You may be on to something Watson.

That's so cool you have a pic of that Garside. It is sweed isn't it? The closest sound it comes to is like a powerfull old Jazz. That makes it junk . That Bass is no match for a Korean 24 Active Honk Machine though. I'd actually like to see pics of the K 24. I really don't think I can quite place what it looks like.

If you remember, that was how we got to be friends, I posted the pics for you. I would like to see the Garside up close and personal. It looks like a fine bass.

that NNDB who is our antagonist, is a strange cat. I thinhk he has multiple identities on here and I thik I know who he is. If i find proof positive, I'll call him on it in public.

Geat any rain yet? I hope so, if not, poor crops and skinny chickens. Anorexic chicken jokes!

Thank you.
And in all seriousness, I'm not out to make trouble or be a smartass or anything, and I only have just this one account here.
This guitar sounds every bit as good as it looks, and it just blew my mind that it wasn't working.
I was hoping that maybe someone here had a similar problem and knew of a fix other than the usual suspects of broken wires etc.
The suggestion of taking it to a shop is beyond the scope of the obvious.

I mean it's probably a good answer for just about any post here, but then what good would a forum be when trying to trouble shoot a problem?

I will get it fixed one way or another, and I'm just hoping all it needs is a new pre-amp board.

Sorry we got off on the wrong foot here.

Joe

Hey Joe, really nice bass, I'm sure the picture doesn't do it any justice. The thing about these forums, is patience. there are times when it takes a while for the right answer to come. obviously there wasn't anyone with a similar problem or they would have shared.

One more thing, Stroker Vance is one of the best here. He knows a lot and can be trusted with his advice.

I've had the same problem before with a bass and it was the barrel jack-- those do go bad -- I don't really like them because every one I get seems I've replaced after a short while. The idea of a barrel jack is good but we need a new kind of one that's better than the ones I've dealt with. I imagine there's one out there I don't know about.

Thanks oxy -- I don't know about what I know except that I go on experience. I forget what I read after awhile but when I spend bucks on something I don't forget it.

You're welcome Fletch. I'm glad that it all worked out and Joe realizes no one is ragging on him. I am surprised that no one came into the conversation with any ideas or suggestions.

Hope you can get this problem corrected, Joe.
