I have the quilt top korean 24 jazz bass.
AFAIR it was working just fine when put away a year or two ago. I pulled it out of the closet, replaced the battery with a brand new one for good measure, plugged it in and nothing!
I tried different cords just to be sure. For the heck of it I tried a few different batteries, still nothing.
I made certain that the battery connections were making contact, and even verified it with a voltage meter.
I opened the back just to look for broken wires, or maybe a twisted pot or something, but saw no evidence of any damage.
I pulled the jack, and all three connections appear intact.
This guitar is in pristine condition, and this just makes no sense.
Any suggestions please?

Thanks,

Joe

Thank you for your informative reply.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near Ohio.

I did however call the PU manufacturer, and they are sending me a new PC board to see if that solves it.

That Ohio cut was not nice and it is not unfortunate-- it is fortunate because I don't want you caught dead anywhere near Ohio either.-- so take that mister. So much for that.

I can see now that there are a number of other forums that take helping others a little more seriously.
I guess I'll start there next time, and save this place for when I need chuckles rather than advice.

Okay but there was a serious message in my first post which was intended to help you really. The message was TAKE THE BASS TO A REPAIR SHOP. But no need to go on and on. This is a good forum. Don't let me ruin it for you. :?:

Really! You took the time to give a good reply. You are not only a gentleman, but a solarian as well, Stroker.

Indeed. Now let us all clasp penises in celebration of the wonderful display of homosexuality presented in this thread!

yes, I think that would be in order. Maybe some butt patting as a display of jobs well done, and problems professionally addressed.

A Solarian is the owner of a bass guitar such as the one in this picture.

Besides, I think what we have here is another split personality poster. Check out the dates they joined.

Or! They're having problems admitting who they are!

AHHHH--HAAAA ! You may be on to something Watson.

That's so cool you have a pic of that Garside. It is sweed isn't it? The closest sound it comes to is like a powerfull old Jazz. That makes it junk . That Bass is no match for a Korean 24 Active Honk Machine though. I'd actually like to see pics of the K 24. I really don't think I can quite place what it looks like.
