Hi all,

I've just purchased a brand new Fender FSR American Standard Hand Stained Jazz Bass (Mahagony Stain, Maple fingerboard), see:

http://www.musik-schmidt.de/Fender-FSR-American-Standard-Hand-Stained-Jazz-Bass-MS.html

Anyone knows how to clean and polish:

* body (hand rubbed stain with satin lacquer finish)

* neck (satin finish on back, gloss finish on front)

Is Warwick Beeswax (developed for Warwick oil-finished guitars) appropriate cleaner/polisher for body and back of neck:

http://www.thomann.de/de/warwick_beewax.htm

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards,

niksajur

hand rubbed stain with satin laquer finish-- that means it has a satin clear coat on the wood. Use regular guitar polish on it. The stuff that goes on unfinished wood like Birchwood Casey gunstock wax is made for bare wood and oil finished wood not laquer finished wood.

I like Smiths guitar polish or Martin polish. Try to get some good guitar polish that doesn't leave residue on the guitar. Wax will build up.

I use "Meguiar's Cleaner Wax". That's right automotive polish. It really cleans up my finish and protects my basses. Does a great job on the back of my maple neck and slicks it right up! Works well on chrome too! It's very high quality and only $6. One tin will last 10 years or more if you don't wax your car with it. :)

I've always used polish. I never got into the wax build up thing.
