Dave will talk about the hole in your bass where the rain gets in to stop your mind from wondering where it will go.

I'm wondering why Dave has not chimed in yet? I'm sure he will and then he can clear up any questions. Just ask Dave- he knows.

Dave has gone to work on a special project for NASA. Seems they discovered an alternate universe where there is no Fender Forum and Dave is answering all their questions, if he doesn't, Earth will be destroyed.

But on a serious note....I actually have a hand written note with my name, address, phone number, model, and serial number folded up in the hole. Just in case something ever was to happen.

Great Idea. I will do the same. Maybe it can work as time capsule as well :>

Still waiting for Dave answers :>
Maybe this hole takes you to make part of some fender contest where the winner (who got the bass hole) will have strings for the rest of the life.
Or ... It´s just an alien sign proving that bass fenders are not from here ...

Wow I totally missed this thread. CNC anchor holes are in different locations on different models. Some are about the size of a dime some larger around the size of a nickle. Most USA and MIM CNC anchor holes are round but some Fuji-Gen made CIJ models have rectangular ones. Anchor points are a necessary evil for CNC woodworking. Unless you remove the pickguard you'll never see them. The anchor hole and the pickup/control cavities are used as anchor points in the CNC routing process to hold the wood blank completely still. Some models can get by using the pickup and control cavities as the only points, hence no additional anchor hole.
