I have a Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass that I absolutely love, but I'm having the toughest time finding a proper hard shell case for it! Can anybody help me out? - Dan

ive been using these cases for a while now..they are cheap, and very good. they are made out of a lightweight Polyfoam. they have bad reviews..though i have never had trouble with them..i have to of the identical cases..have had them for years

Thanks for the reply bro! I'm familiar with these hybrid style cases, but was hoping to find a hard-shell like their Tolex or Tweed models. Guitars tend to get stacked on top of each other on the way to gigs so I'm a litter weary about any soft / semi-soft cases. Definitely an option though! Any other suggestions?

You've tried a current Jazz/P-Bass case with no joy? Those things fit a variety of styles. The ones made by SKB as OEM for Fender. Look like this:

Thanks Dave! I tried it in my 'universal' hard-shell case that I use for my Ibanez SR bass, but the Aerodyne body shape is a little wide for it and just barely doesn't fit (less than an inch). I was originally going to go with a standard Jazz hard case like the one you show here, but I've heard in other forums that the Aerodyne's body shape is a little too wide (which is my current problem with the 'universal' case). Maybe the newer models have been updated though? Can anyone shed some light?

I have one of these for my american standard jazz bass. It is a pretty snug fit..which i like. its a universal bass case. Its suppose to fit both jazz and precision basses..Ive heard you can also fit jaguar basses in them too..your bass wont fit perfect but it will fit good enough..My jazz bass fits in it a little weird..but i know the more the bass sits in the case..the more it the foam kind of takes the shape of the bass you are using it for. plus there are universal cases like this that you could use

Dan, I have a case a buddy of mine got for me: he owns a little music store. But I've no clue what brand or model it is, and I loaned the bass to an associate. I'll see him tonite and see if there's a brand and model number on it.

Okay, my case is a GATOR. I don't know the model but it has 4 clasps. Fits fine.
