Hi, can someone tell me which way the position line on the black phenolic knobs is supposed to face? Reason I am asking is that on my new bass the knobs weren't exactly "precisely" adjusted by whoever fitted them. Sorry for the stupid question but I've never had a Jazz Bass before and don't know that much about them

All three knobs on my J point at different directions when all are rotated to either stop. I have never removed them from where Corona put them on. I set mine where the sound is optimized for where I play and leave them be.

If it concerns you, I imagine you could orient them to the same direction at Max or Min values.

On a right handed bass with the headstock pointing right (parallel to the horizon) as you face the front of the instrument, minimum stop is approximately 7 O'clock and maximum stop is approximately 5 O'clock.

Before Oxfan asks, yes this will work perfectly no matter what time zone you are in and you don't have to set them forward or back when changing time zones or adjust them for Daylight Saving Time.

Well now's a good time to tell me! I've been making myself crazy with that, and all the clocks and everything.

Will this work south of the equator?

I'm SURE this doesn't apply in China.

After an exaustive search, I doscovered the Sogyai Rinpoche artist series bass. It was a custom shop model wit only 250 made, very popular in Idaho, where 199 of them are known to be.

All the knobs are upside down! HA!

He and his band are still touring, he's in the forefront of the picture.
