Hi there,
First I have to say that I'm from belgium and my english is not very good, my excuses for that
So here's my question: I own a US Vintage 62' Jazz Bass from '88, instead of the normaly chrome hardware they have used golden hardware on my bass and also 'double use' regulators for tone and volume not the black one. Is my bass a special version of the Vintage '62? Do someone know more about my bass? Thanks in advance!

The 2 stacked control knobs are the norm for that model i believe - Jaco's '62 model (which he defretted) had those originally also until he changed them out for the 3 knob controlplate. 8)

Thank you for your information! :D
Do you also know why my bass has Golden hardware? The gold is original cos the serial number is etched in the (also golden) neckplate.
I can't find anything on the www about that gold hardware.
frustrating!!

The Gold hardware was put on what they called the Mary Kaye 62 Jazz bass. The finish should be a transparent off white color. I had one that I had bought in California in 1988. It was THE Best playing bass that I ever owned and I regret to this day that I traded it in. There really isn't that much info out there on them and I believe they were limited. The only way I learned about them was through a friend. Sometimes if you type Mary Kaye '62 Jazz Bass in a search on the internet one will show up on ebay or a dealer.
