I inherited from my dad. It's one year older than I am. I unfortunately have to sell it and need input on what it's worth. It is in immaculate condition.

Her profile is probably not public, meaning that unless for some strange reason one is friends with her on FB, we won't be able to see it. You should upload the photo to Flickr, PhotoBucket, or some other photo server site.

I would say that the girl is selling the bass her dad left her??-- wow- I know when I kick the croak bucket, go down the long lonesome highway, get planted etc etc- I have intended my bass to be meant to stay in the family. I'd hope it would be passed on for generations. Kind of like stay in the family kind of thing. They can sell the rest of them and go do whatever but the "one" I'd like them to hold on to. I would hope they -whoever would not sell the thing and do something dumb like go buy Brittany Spears tickets. Yes that would be stupid- sorry to all haters for that.

Quite a range internationally. Depending on condition, originality, desirability of color, condition of original case etc, the RETAIL for a '73 Fender Jazz ranges from $2500 to $6000. The same Jazz in excellent condition with an asking price of $3,000 in NYC has an asking price of nearly twice that in the UK. So where you are matters about as much as condition. Bear in mind those are RETAIL figures.

Retail is what a vintage dealer might ask for one. When selling one to a vintage dealer they generally give you 50% or slightly less than 50% of what they think they can retail it for successfully. You will make more in a private party sale or by placing it on consignment with a vintage dealer. Either way takes longer but realizes more cash than an outright sale to a dealer.

Stoker Vance has a point. I wouldn't sell it unless I absolutely had to as these are appreciating and the longer you keep it the more it will be worth.
