I just received a replacement case for my CS bass that I purchased last Dec. I ragged on FedEx a little over the deliver of my bass, http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=65479, but this time FedEx did great. I guess I owe it to them to report the good as well as the bad.

The right latch of the case wouldn't close properly. I was afraid it might pop open while carrying the bass.
In the pics below the case is empty.

So I contacted Sweetwater and after looking at the pics I sent them they told me they would send a new case.

When I got home from work today there was a note on the door from FedEx. They said the item must be signed for and the driver left his cell number. I called him and he said he would come back by and deliver the case. When he arrived I told him what it was and he waited while I opened it to make sure this case was alright. He was going to wait while I packed up the old case, but he works for their ground service and the return label was for air express.

Just goes to show you that it doesn't really make a difference what company you deal with, it's people that make the difference, good or bad.

Glad it worked out G, Sweetwater has been o.k. with me, there have been some problems as far as matching prices go.

I guess I could have went straight to Fender with it. That's what Sweetwater did. Fender answered back immediately with an okay to exchange cases. Shipping paid both ways.

I've had a few problems with matching prices as well. I don't even try anymore. I was going to buy strings from them, but they kept tryin' to sell me 4 string sets for my 5 string!

Other than that they've been pretty good. I don't have a problem buying from them again.

The case wasn't a big issue. It worked. I just didn't trust it. That's the condition I received it, but I waited until about 3 weeks ago before I said anything.

The bass??? WOW!!!
I still get an unbelievable thrill each time I pick it up. Plays like a dream and sounds fantastic. It only takes a very light touch to fret a clear note, so I'm still working on breaking old habits and playing with a lighter touch.

Our sound man continues his threats to steal it. He has a fairly extensive background running sound and he says he's never heard a bass like this one. He said the notes just "roll through the board". Whatever that means, but I think it's good.

I get compliments from the people we play for and from other muscians. Everyone is amazed at the finish, but especially the flame maple neck with the black pearl block inlays.

So I guess I'll probably keep this one around awhile. :D

Glad you noticed. I was afraid I was being too subtle!

One more thing I think is worth mentioning. I have read alot of post about new Jazz basses that are noisey and require shielding. This bass is quiet. No noise at all. I've used this bass with three different amps in all, 2 different practice amps at 2 different locations and my stage rig that I use at home and have used on 4 gigs at 3 different locations without any noise problems.
I've also been in the studio twice running through a SansAmp only without any noise problems.
Which reminds me. Tomorrow evening we start recording a full length CD. We haven't picked exactly what songs yet, but we have 2 or 3 picked out. Enough to get started. :D
