This is a question for experienced guitar techs only please.

Is it possible to replace a fingerboard on a rosewood or pau ferro neck that's been converted to fretless? I'm thinking in the future I made need such a replacement after the current neck has been planed and replaned. So you experienced repair folks out there - is this possible? Pros/Cons? Any idea at all on price? Ideally when it comes time for a replacement I would be looking at ebony or a suitable synthetic replacement (not ebanol please).
