Hi

I wonder if anybody has any idea whether it is possible to purchase a replacement
FMEQ80097 preamp unit as fitted on these basses....my MMJB preamp is failing to work and I do not want to fit a custom boutique unit to it. I have not had a lot of success so far finding these...would very much appreciate any information. I live in the UK

Thanks :?:

Hi ChazJazzz,

The only MMJB diagram I can find online is for the V. The Fender part number for the preamp circuit board in the Fender Marcus Miller Jazz V is 0059136000 . The part number and the FME number on the board will be different. Once you have the diagram, you can find the part number for the board and then you can order it through any Fender Parts Dealer.

To get a copy of the diagram for your instrument contact Fender Consumer Relations by email at E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com and request they email you the PDF file for the diagram. Alternate contact channels for them follows:
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
Attn: Consumer Relations Dept.
17600 N. Perimeter Drive, Suite 100
Scottsdale, AZ 85255

Telephone: (480) 596-7195
Fax: (480) 367-5262
E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com

Since you are in UK, you might have to go through the UK distributor to get parts. Some online parts dealers in USA will ship to UK though.

Or you could go for the Sadowski outboard preamp, the very same preamp fitted to Millers' bass...it just so happens i got one, just a little black box with bass treble and volume, plug in to yer jazz and voila...instant marcus sound.
