Interesting review and I enjoyed it a lot. I am guessing the audio clips labeled PRECISION are actually the Telecaster Bass clips. I don't know why everyone is so down on Chinese guitars. I think they are a good buy. Some are better than others. A few are outstanding. The Fenders look really nice. The sound clips sound characteristic of the 73 Telecaster and like a Jazz on steroids.

At least Fender's price points generally reflect where they are produced.
Whether you dig the end result is a personal decision.

I know of another company that shifted their production to China but did not pass any of the savings onto the consumer.

I think the company you are referring to saw their sales collapse too. Then started making some products in the USA again and charging a lot more for them by naming the USA made ones HERITAGE SERIES. That company name starts with an A, ends with a G and has mpe in the middle.

I have the modern player jazz in olympic white and I love it, I would love a US Fender but my budget at the time could only cover a Modern player. I still really like this bass. Sounds and looks great.

Though I am used to five string necks, this takes a little getting used to as its extremely thin neck.
