i'm thinking about putting a vintage bridge cover, with the fender f on it, on my deluxe jazz bass and was wondering how popular they were. so here's the question. WITH OR WITHOUT?

I don't dig the covers, but a lot of people with vintage preference do. It's your bass, do what you like, as long as you like it, doesn't matter what other people think.

Hi:

I like the look, but I play with a pick near the bridge so the covers for me are not that great, I played a 62 Re-issue with them, It drove me nuts

i think they look great, but they limit your choices of tones available. over the years Fender stays with what's hot, and drops what's not.
plus, the p-ups make great thump rests/markers...voted with-out.
