[2. Hyperspace]

A quantum leap forward
In time and in space
The universe learned to expand

The mess and the magic
Triumphant and tragic
A mechanized world out of hand

Computerized clinic
For superior cynics
Who dance to a synthetic band

In their own image
Their world is fashioned
No wonder they don't understand

Saw Rush in Malmø, Sweden last year.............. and it was amazing. These 3 gentlemen having fun, and playing their asses off. Geddy`s basstone was superb :D .
I seriously recommend the Timemashine album to all who normally do not listen to Rush...... i guess all you fellows here allready owe it. :D

Geddy is great and all but Alex is severely underrated over time as a guitar player. And Niel pretty much writes the lyrics to the songs and always has. Geddy= Good . Without the other guys? = ?????. Has he ever done a solo album?

They've all done solo projects - Geddy with the 'My Favourite Headache' album, Alex with his 'Victor' album, and Neil with his 'Burning for Buddy' tribute to Buddy Rich.

Geddy's album sounded a bit 'Rush lite' to me, whereas Victor was a huge departure and really showed off a lot of different sides to Alex. Good stuff, but hard to get hold of now.

...Geddy is one of the most underrated singers, bass players, composers, arrangers, and band managers in history. Each of them contributed something significant to the Rush project. It was the chemistry between them and their individual strengths that is Rush!

...where would the Rolling Stones be without Mick Jagger!

...where would Black Sabbath be without Ozzie!

...where would Led Zeppelin be without Robert Plant!

With the exception of Neil's teaching project, all Rush solo projects sucked, bad. All Rush albums are...immortal.

My son took me to see Rush @ The Hollywood Bowl, R-30 tour, garden box seats, right next to the mixing board, eye level with Neal Peart -- thank you son!

A friend gave me and some hot chick two tickets to a Presto tour show!

I live in Ohio so naturally Rush was big here before allot of other places. Part of my growing up was along side a bunch of Rush albums. From the first one on... I had an interest in and eventually played covers of Rush songs in bands. By the 90's their popularity was not as great around here as it once was. By 2005 they were gone for all intents and purposes except for the occasional classic rock radio airplay. I read Niels books. They were very good. I've lost track of the group. I still think they had a very big impact (as I saw it) on musicians. They were / are Musicians' Musicians'. Maybe that's why they are not hailed as the great band they are in the media. Times have changed now and music is not like it was during the 70s and 80s when Rush ruled. Maybe they lost some of their altitude when Niel suffered his setbacks. That was sad.

I saw Rush three times. My first was Max Webster opening for Rush on their 2112 tour. The next was ACDC opening for Rush and it was ACDC's first US tour. The last was when they had lasers sometime around 1990.The first concerts were general admission and cost around 10.00.We stood up front by the stage the whole time.

I'm up here in Canada and have seen Rush quite a few times including the tour for the first album in the mid-70's...they very often toured with Max Webster and the bands actually complimented each other i felt.... good times, good memories....
