I like the 5 string idea and I bought 5 of them. The extended pattern of the B is no problem for me. It's just another string with the same theory when it's tuned to B. I had an MB5 a Ibanes Ergodyne a Musicman a Hazze Wazzeen a Yahmaha and prob another ( it's late ya'll) so you can tell maybe why I didn't like them. The higher end 5's seemed too expensive to me when I was already sitting on so many 4 strings. I experimented with the cheaper models which was a mistake. I'd probably play a 5 if it was "the one".

Nothing wrong with looking ahead.

It got a little windy here tonight. Gust up to 69 mph in OKC. It wasn't quite that bad here, but it did gust up into the 50 mph range.

One of the reasons that nice lady is so nice, she never really gets mad at me. A little annoyed from time to time, but never mad.

I haven't ever tried a fretless. Would like to some day.

I already own a P-bass with a maple neck. It's a '75 I bought used in '78. My first bass. It's not vintage though. In the first year or two (can't really remember) of owning the bass I was getting a pretty good buzz. I had the pickups changed out and that took care of it. I still get it out and play it every now and then, but only a couple of times since getting the new bass.

Again, please pardon my self-indulgence.

that's exactly what my 74 P looked like when I bought it in 1978 ! Nice-- mines refinished now to Surf Green- it got refinished twice. the first refin was in 78 when no one thought much about doing a refin. It's okay - it stays when every thing else goes.

Same with my P-bass.
I've already told my son it's his.......
.......after I'm gone. :)

I'm sure I won't ever do anything to this one, but Surf Green sure is a nice color.

A Bassman 300 Pro head, a Super Bassman head, 2 1x15 cabs, 1 8x10 cab, a Bronco 40, Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe, an American Standard Precision sunburst w/ maple, and a fretless American Standard in black with a black replacement pickguard coming with it.

That's just the start.
