I'd say it is possibly a 64 in spite of the serial. Or call it a 64/65. 64's are worth more as they are considered pre-CBS, even though production was being ramped up in 64 a good bit and the finishing process was being streamlined with Fullerplast entering the picture to speed things up. Serials are not 100% accurate. If the pots date to 64 then it is more of a 64 than a 65. Either way, nice bass and after the refinish I think you'll have a top notch player.
