I have a 2001 Mexican Deluxe Active Jazz V and I was wondering what benefit would there be to upgrading the bridge to a BadAss II. I'm happy with the tone; but would it improve playability?

A lot of that would depend on how you play.. but I think a good ever all setup would probably do more if it hasn't been done... The BA bridge might help you get more sustain but I don't know how noticeable it would be..

Thanks man. I think I'll skip the BA and either leave it stock or maybe get a high-mass equivalent. Another thing that I was looking at is the string spacing. The Deluxe Active Jazz V (along with the first run of the American Deluxe Jazz V) uses an intermediate spacing of 11/16" which is about 1/16" tighter than the traditional 3/4" spacing (some fivers have used even tighter spacing to better facilitate chording). I was considering using a 3/4" spacing, but it looks like the B and G strings will end up too close to the edge of the finger board at the higher frets.
