I know that it isn't hard to put pickups in a bass or put a new bridge, but what about a preamp such as a small one like a little aguilarone inside my bass. What exactly is the whole prodedure and would i need to get more stuff done to have that be able to work such as any body work or maybe getting a new knob plate to add knobs ? Thanks your answers are all appreciated

Looked at the Aguilar preamp on their site. They have at least three.

As far as body mods, the things you need to be concerned about are the amount of space you have in the controls cavity for the preamp and batterie(s), and the spacing and number of pots. A snap-in battery box can be installed in the back control cover plate, or put in a routed cavity in the back of the body. These have a snap open cover to make changing batteries easy.

Preamps use either one or two 9V batteries, so if space is limited, you need to go with a preamp that uses one.

The Aguilar kits can use different numbers of pots for tone and volume. You can also use concentric pots with an inner and outer shaft and corresponding knobs, saving an extra hole, though they require a deeper cavity. A spare pick guard and/or control cover is a good idea if you ever decide to remove the parts and return the bass back to original.

Go here and look around at the wiring diagrams and product pages to figure out what you might want. Mount everything so nothing rattles around.

Good luck!
