While drooling around the Web I've recently found a pre-2010 American Deluxe Jazz Bass clone built by a Malaysian maker, Haseesa Guitars.

This Korean-made Haseesa Standard Jazz Bass shared many of the aspects of an old American Deluxe Jazz Bass such as the dinky body and pickguard shape and the 22-fret design, except it has the passive arrangement of a traditional Jazz Bass, a Wilkinson bridge, a headstock-located truss rod system and a bound maple fretboard with tuxedo cosmetics.

A member of the forum has recently converted his amber American Deluxe Jazz Bass into a passive bass.

I wonder if it's possible to convert the pre-2010 Deluxes into a good old passive bass by removing the active electronics and fill the cavities for the battery and the side jack with a chunk of wood?
