wow... for a 4 page post on the new Am Del J there is very little discussion about it... mostly a 21 fret vs. 24 fret debate.... i am debating going in today and ordering a new Amer Del J and was hoping people who have already purchasing one might have opinions on it.... a good experience? any quirky problems to look out for?

i test drove one for our NYE gig and really liked being able to switch from active to passive on the fly... it seemed quite punchy and cut thru the mix well in active for our R&B and funkier stuff, but flipped to passive was smooth and buttery for the old, slow blues stuff....

primarily i'm wondering... has anyone bought one and had a bad experience? noise problems? build issues, etc??

lastly, has anyone seen a Wine Transparent one up close? is it as gorgeous as the tiny thumb on Fender site? the only reason i dont just buy the one i test drove is that i already have two basses in black w/maple neck... and when i went on Fender's site yesterday i saw it was available is that lovely wine color....

Yeah, sorry about the 21 vs 24 fret debate. I just found it a bit disturbing that since it is more of a modern type of bass, it only had 21 frets, instead of the 24 like other modern basses, which makes it a bit limiting even though not very many people would even go up past the 22th fret.
