Currently there's no fretless American Deluxe yet.

The last fretless Deluxe I saw was discontinued in 2008.

Hi Folks,
Having done a few gigs with my Am Std Jazz Fretless, I continue to love it more & more. Which is not to say that I'm not still nuts about my fretted P.
As you guys point out, there's lots of love to go around.
My salesman, Pete D. at long & McQuade, Langley, BC, is at NAMM, hobnobbing & sending photos, (I'm so jealous, I'm turning green.)
Just traded my Eden WT550 (20 lbs) for a GK Fusion 500 (4.5 lbs) & my Eden D210XLT (70 lbs) for a Traynor TC115 NEO (40 lbs). With cancer and a steel pin in my left arm, a plate in my right arm & a pin in my leg, less weight is good.
I bought an Eden W.T.D.I. It is amazing what is does, plugged into other peoples gear. YAHOO.
Oh, well, back to work
Best of to you all, TommieTT

You're Welcome... :) I like using my Jaco Fretless when I'm playing old school classic rock
like early Zeppelin, Rolling Stones,Cream, Some Pink Floyd, & The Police....... etc. the fretless give a nice warm feel. :)

I actually use the Fender flats on my fretless....( partly because their cheaper than other brands) & you're right they're not bad strings....I'm pretty content using them at the moment though I'd like to try fretless DR strings at some point but they're $$$ :(

I live in Vancouver BC, Canada & Fretless strings are in the $30.00 to $50.00 a set depending on the brand (some things are more expensive here) a set of Fender Flats costs around $27.00 I use Rotosound RB 45's on my other basses....they cost $23.95 a set & they're basically Swing Bass strings ( that cost $27.00 a set) without the red silk endings.........I prefer strings without the silk endings so they work for me...I also like DR Marcus Miller Fat Beams but they're $32.00 a set here. ( every once in a while I do treat myself to a set :) )

The strings Fender puts on their basses don't have silk endings............. but if you buy a set of the same Fender strings they'll have silk endings ( I wonder why :? )......anyway A set of the flats have green silk endings & the Roundwounds Black .....

Hmmm.......my Jaco bass (bought in 2008) didn't have silk endings on the stock string but mind you they didn't have colored ball endings at this time either...........I have to get new strings for my 2011 American Deluxe Jazz 5 string....I like the Fender 8250 stock strings that came with this bass & am thinking of getting another set of these strings as I like the taperwound B & E strings....the stock strings didn't have silk endings.. hope the new set that I buy doesn't have 'em :)

Bought a Fretless Jazz Standard 11+ years ago and still love it. Flatwounds and play it like a tenor sax.

Do "Moondance" and "Desifinado" on one. Crazy.

I bought a jazz body and added a Mighty Mite fretless p neck and black guard to it. It look like a Tony Franklin fretless p. I love it. It turned out well. I always wanted a fretless and when I recently got back into playing after 16 years everyone said to get a fretted bass first to regain my feel for neck position. Good advice. The unlined fretless has taught me to LISTEN. I don't even look at the board anymore.
