As some of you have probably heard, I have my very first Fender bass on order. That's the good news. The bad news is that I am told it has an ETA in NOVEMBER!?
Can this really be true?
Does anyone know how to inquire about delivery times for Fender gear?
Yes, I am impatient. I check my mail box every day to see if my mail man has squeezed in an envelope with a bass guitar in it. :)
Sigh... boys and their gear... right?
I hope someone knows the answer to my question. I'm slowly dying from anticipation.

It wouldn't surprise me. I have quite a few posts on here about the Steve Bailey Jazz Bass that I ordered and took 9 months to deliver. I ordered it in July when I did the Fender sales Rep told the shop it would be done in September. In September they told me December. In December they told me after the new year. In January they told me April or May. It finally came in June.

Also within this time I called Fender Customer Service and couldn't get any info. Finally I started calling online retailers to see if they had any in stock. None of them did but some did have delivery dates that they could give me.

Stay Brown,
Rev J

Wow, rev. That was NOT a comforting answer. :/
I think I'll just shut up and cross my fingers and hope for November. :)

Well I left out the part about Fender having issues with their American paint vendor. The funny thing is that I think my particular model was finished in Mexico as it has Nitrocellulose Laquer which is Illegal to use in the US.

Uhhhh, I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but, I just looked out of my door and there's a large box out there, I think they accidentally delivered it here.

You know.,,,,,, old Hinke Zettler once waited 11 years for a bass. Forgot he ordered it. He was old I said. So the day he gets it and opens the box---- it's cracked. I mean CRACKED in two! Had to send it back. That was 16 years ago. He's still waiting, he's like 92 now. I don't think the old hanker could lift a bass let alone play it now. Tuff luck for ole Hinke. He's a Eskimo.

Man, you guys are a bunch of WEIRDOS! I think I will fit in with you lot JUST FINE. :)

I'll just put my expectations at ease and assume it'll take 11 years for Pennywise to deliver my bass cracked in two pieces. Surely I can only be pleasantly surprised, then. :)

Weirdos? That coming from a man with horns? I guess you could say that as well as anything else you'd like, unless you get distracted and forget what you were going to say.

Oh yeah, ah, er what was I saying?Oh yeah, the bass! It was paid in full, set up really well and plays like a dream. I put it right next to the buffet in the dining room (no traffic there) for safe keeping.

Pick it up the next time you drop by!

Sure. What's your adress? :)

And yeah, I call you guys freaks. I love the CDO (like OCD, but with the letters in alphabetical order as they should be) approach to bass playing that is shown around here. But you know what they say: It takes one to know one. Right?
