Pictures will be delayed and so is the project! The Mighty Mite neck came in damaged! There was a small dent in the 5th fret where the E string would be!

The damaged one has been shipped back and I'm hoping the new one will be here by Friday.

Almost done! Just waiting on the BaddassII to come in.

The MM neck is great. Also shown are the Hipshot Ultralites, 3 string retainer, Tusq nut (hand cut and hand painted black), the new Rotos, the Noisless pups, and my new vampire skull strap. I also put on a MM black neck plate. It sounds sweeeeeet! :D Yes, it cost a lot of money...but its my rig!

If anyone knows where I can get a 4 hole black control plate for a J bass please let me know... I've gone crazy looking for one!

After the bridge is on the control plate will be the last piece of chrome. I want the whole bass blacked out... :D

The head logo should be here any day. It reads, "Fender Tao Bass." Black letters.

The logo came in today!

Better news...I'm playing live for the first time since college!

Several of my martial arts students have to do a demo as part of their black belt test next month. They are going to fight off a Zombie Attack, and their Sensei will be plugged in playing Bass to the music -- Anthrax's new song, "Fight'em." I have 4 students fighting off 8 martial artists dressed as zombies, and one in a Charlie Sheen mask!

Can't wait!!!

PS: Yes, I'm a big Anthrax fan! I'm an old hand banger from The Bronx. Charlie and Frank are from my old neighborhood. Craggs is from the neighborhood a few blocks up. And, yes, I was at the Big 4 Concert last week! :D

PS, PS: Brother Dave is The Man! Thank you!

PS, PS, PS: Lawsuitbass...thank you for your support during this project! 8)

Good news….I love the Steve Harris Rotos! They sound awesome. High end, low end, etc…they are just an amazing bass string. With the noiseless pups it’s a perfect combination. I also like the feel of the flats -- no slide noise and they are slippery suckers that make three-finger galloping easy.

Bad news…I’m getting arthritis playing them! They are like banging on metal rods. Even the G string needs one hell of a tug!

So, when the BAII comes in I’m going to put on the Robert Trujillo Icons (Tapered steel Dunlop’s).

Couldn't wait for the BAII. Its going to be a while until I get it. So, I put on the Trujillo Dunlop strings. They are perfect for playing metal, have a comfortable feel, play real easy, break in quickly, and the taper core adds a clean, bright tone. The low growl and midrange are as advertised, these strings deliver… The custom gauges required a neck adjustment but it is worth it. I went from a 110 to a 102.

I would not use them for jazz, rock/soft rock but for metal, funk, or punk they are perfect!

Hey dude go for it I bought an Affinity while I was out of work, shattered ankle and started my project, true I won't recoup anything from it but great sounds, great neck, great body was all I was looking for, all of the work I did myself, fret job, hipshot tuners,Duncan pick ups,new pots, jack, cap change,j b knobs, pearl pick guard, bad $@! 2 bridge, bone nut, rolled the fret board edges, dunlop strap locks, thumb rest, neck and bridge covers . A national recording artist just recently said It's one of the best he's heard and wants it in his new recording . So it can be worth it if done right .

Yeah, I want it to be a project. I'm going to spend enough in the end to probably buy an American!

But I rescued this Bass from a kid who is a complete doofist and was going to throw it out! So, I'm just having some fun.

I dropped off the black pick gaurd and black strap buttons today. The bass is still being worked on at the shop I'm using. Everything chrome will be black when I'm done.

One thing disappointmented me... I saw the bass today and the pickups are not N3. The pickups just read "Noisless." The owner was not there so I didn't ask the kid at the counter. Any input would be welcomed... I research pickups and from what I read the N3's are the latest and greatest and the SCN's are discontinued. :?:

Electric blue Agathis body, custom adjusted maple Mighty Mite neck and truss bar, black Tusq nut, Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups, black Mighty Mite back plate, black Mighty Mite three string retainer, black lollypop Ultra Light Hip Shot tuners, black Schaller adjustable bridge, black Schaller strap locks and buttons, replacement black pick guard, Dunlop made Rob Trujillo 102 gauge tapered stainless steel strings, Big Muff Pi pedal jacked into a distorted Marshall MB60 and a clean Fender 15w Rumble. And, yes, its all about the vampire skull strap!

:D
