Hi. I have recently bought myself a Fender J (a week ago).
I noticed this morning that I have chipped the paint. Some say its no big deal(gutted).
Are their any pen paints that I could use to repair the chip?
I know eventually it is inevitable, but one week.
Regards, silenceroom.

Well there's a couple options you can partake in but its always better if you post a picture so we can get an idea of its size, depth(to paint?)color, finish type and location of blemish.
Personally I leave them be,they are a badge of honor and give the bass charactor if you ask me,but you can go to an automotive parts store with a little piece of the paint chip if possible or the whole bass and match the color up as close as possible to the automotive color chart and buy that chip and scratch filler paint pen, they are about 7.00$-10.00$.
I have used nail polish to touch up the used guitars and scratch and dent sale items, they come in alot of colors and are also thicker which helps when filling in deep chips down to the wood and are only 3.00$-5.00$.
So theres a few options that dont requier a degree in refinishing to get good results, there's probably a bunch more techniques out there but I find these simple ones work the best.

Reranch sells touch up pens in guitar colors. You'll find the link to them on my bass website. Go to the link in my forum signature below. Then click on the red link for REFINISH, RESTORE & MAJOR REPAIR and once that page loads go the the bottom to get the link to RERANCH. They have the actual Fender colors loaded in touch-up pens. But I would NEVER do that to a vintage bass, OK?
