Just pulled the trigger on a 2008 USA Deluxe Jazz bass, delighted with it

its all black, maple neck, active pups, 3 band eq.

the body seems a bit smaller than a conventional jazz or am i imagining that?

it has its first gig this satuday cant wait!! :)

well I had 2 of them a 97 and a 98 and yes the bodies are smaller-.

Congratulations are in order on the new bass,I always thought the Deluxe p-bass DID have a scaled down body but I was'nt able to confirm nor rebuke it till now.I almost bought a Deluxe this time out (ended up getting a killer 60th anniversery insted)but the mis-matched body pieces finished with a semi clear sunburst was a huge turnoff,how could they call it a deluxe when they just slapped together any old piece's of body wood not caring at all the way it will look under a see thru finish.
Maybe they think we wont notice it sticking out like a sore thumb(like when the cartoon characters smash a hand with a slede-hammer making it swell up a horribly then seeing it throb like a swollen pulsating hearbeat.COOL

Congrats on your new bass an good luck with your gig, I'm loving my 2007 Deluxe so much that the Stingrays are starting to take a back seat now !

Those are REALLY nice. I like the tone of them better than the standards of the same year model. I think they actually got better wood.
