Does anyone make a chrome battery cover for my MIM active Deluxe JB? The black plastic one isn't doing it for me. Thanks.

Well...let's ignore my reply in your other thread about no pic no bass then :P Anyway, my '89 has a black metal cover on it instead of plastic. The older active basses had the metal piece on the cover. So maybe you can try on line retailers for it. Good luck!

You can take the cover, trace it and have a chromed cover made for it at a machine shop in your town or nearby city. So far as I know there is no chrome cover replacement and never has been. There have been metal covers but they were painted and even those are no longer available so far as I know. One of the largest collections of Fender parts is at Darren Riley's Guitar Shop in Raleigh, NC. The link to his website parts list is here: http://www.darrenriley.com/fenderparts.htm

A buddy of mine in Mississippi had his cover crack due to age. He made his own out of a piece of thin, flat aluminum stock that he picked up at Radio Shack several years ago. He traced the original and cut out the shape with metal shears and used a flat metal file to get rid of any burrs. Drilled holes and countersunk the holes for the screws to fit flush. He painted the cover to match the bass body color using a Duplicolor paint matching machine at Home Depot. Turned out great.

I checked All-Parts and they do not have a metal cover for your bass.
