I recently bought a fender jazz bass and would like to findout what year it was built.
The rectangle plate with the script-F has a serial number 623064. Does this fall into the
year of 1975 ?

Yes that is a '75 model year neckplate. The '75 model year was July 1 1975 through June 30, 1976. Some people say the neckplates are unreliable for dating, but more often than not they are correct. You could also check for a date stamp on the neck butt and the pot codes. Sometimes there are also dates and other stamps in the body neck pocket.

No pics? No pics equals no bass, its the un-rewritten law here,I would have asked before I bought the bass, did it match what the seller claimed it to be ? REMEMBER;Its never too late to post a picture, dont leave us hangin
