Keep looking......but you'll never find it! Fender never put a Les Claypool signature jazz bass. Probably 98% of the time Les plays Carl Thompson basses and he is their main endorser. Yes he owns some Jazz basses, the CT basses are his main axes. No reason for Fender to make a Les Claypool model since he rarely plays Fenders!

I think he only has like 2 Fenders and a dozen or more CT basses the last I read.

If you Google Les Claypool Jazz Bass, you get zippo.......

The DOMINATOR BASS  I forgot all about it,Thats the bass that has his name all over it  ,I heard it's scalloped from frets from 1-15 and the rest are fret-less(24 frets 2 octave board).
It has 2 drop tuners;one on the A string and the other on the G string, and a whammy bar is also available with a 18 oz brass tone block and a fat finger on the headstock to alleviate dead spots on the E and D strings.
The case is lined with beaver fur to commemorate their smash top 40 hit "Wynona's Big-Brown-Beaver"and the chrome neckplate has a artist rendition of what Les Claypool would have looked like had he been born a beaver insted of a human.
The price is'nt to bad, they list for 6200.00$(Guatamolan Rosewood fretboard) without the case and 4400.00$ with the case.
First to pay gets lower numbers in the 1-10,000.000.Limited availability series.
One Word for them SAWEET!

Although I have yet to see a Fender Les Claypool Jazz Bass. I recently saw a picture that was about 15 years old of Les playing what looked like a Creme or Nicotine Yellow (you know that color that white basses turn as they age that looks like a smokers teeth) colored Jazz Bass.

Hey Rev,

How you been? Haven't seen you around in a while. The Dominator bass is offered in "Light Canary Yellow", it's a lot like the old white basses that yellow out.

You guys are nuts, lol. They're putting the Dominators out as a production line, I seriously doubt there will be a million made.

Most musicians guitar bass ETC...Usually have a few different instruments they use regulary for recording OR practicing ETC..but live they usually are obligated to play the brand they are endorsed by.
So its entirely plausable that you saw him with a bass other than his Modulas or MusicMan basses but it dont mean he has his own Fender sig. model(YET)
He does however have a real nice Fender Jazzbass in his Wynona's B/B/Beaver video,It looks to be a Custom shop model but its hard to tell,Its a real nice looking Jazzbass in the Candy Cola/chrome red finish with a maple on maple neck with black blocks and binding and a early 70's large print headstock decal, killer bass it is! check out the vid on You-Boob, Ooops...Sorry, I ment You-tube,..I ment You-Tube.

Yeah I've been doing more lurking than posting. I just got my hours just about doubled at my day gig. I am jamming tomorrow with a guitarist, drummer, keyboardist and sax player. I'd like to add Congas and Timbales eventually. Kind of do an Afro/Latino/Hippie/Funk thing.

Stay Brown,

Out of an act of respect and appreciation for the sheer audacity of Primus music. I threw away all my Primus Cd's. I think Les could appreciate that. And understand it. It was "artistic"..... I think. :D
