Hi everbody,
A few days ago when I unscrewed my JB's pickguard I saw that there is a half-opened hole in left side of the pickguard and a channel between the pickup and preamp. I searched and learnt that these bodies were used at MIM JBs, but somebody said they have got the same body. My JB was built between 2008-2009. I don't know if new JB bodies have these specifications or my JB is a combination of an American neck and Mexican body, how can I understand that?
Thanks for answers.

I wrote A similar thread last week but I was venting about how I owned an american Jazzbass but could'nt leave the pickgaurd off to flaunt the sunburst finish due to the extended routing.
I am not sure when but the American made jazzbasses no longer have 2 single pickup routes and a seperate one for the wiring and pots etc..,at one time only the MIM jazzbasses had the routing between the neck pickup and the cavity control, but now unless its a US re-issue model or a Classic series model they come with the larger routing.
American deluxe also came with it enlarged to accomodate the pre-amp,but over time the US standard and the MIM standard both have this type of extra routing.
I dont understand why have a killer 2 piece alder body(or ash depending on model)with a flawless sunburst finish only to be covered with a pickgaurd ?
So worry not, your bass is'nt a combo of Mex body and a US neck, but even if it was its no big deal, the real problem is a Mex neck on a US made body,I opt for door #1 anyday because a Mex made neck is'nt graphite re-inforced and a US one is along with a few other features.
