Hello,

I bought a FENDER AM VINTAGE 75 J-BASS MN AGNAT two weeks ago and i don't know the original string gauge of the bass. I can't find it on the Fender Website because this product is not produced since one year and a half :| So, if there is a person who have the same bass, can he help me ?

Fender 7250M was the stock string set specified on MOST AVRI's ever made. HOWEVER to be absolutely certain you should send an email to Fender Consumer relations WITH YOUR FULL SERIAL NUMBER requesting a spec sheet. The response will be a wealth of information on your specific instrument and it should include the SPECIFIED string set and from there you can extrapolate the original gauges by examining the gauge specs of that exact set.

consumerrelations@fender.com is the email. You'll get an answer fairly quickly, say within 2 days.

Nice bass! If you did not purchase it new, it is possible the nut has been modified for a different gauge in which case you might not get ideal results with the original set gauges. Not saying that happened, but that it could have. Compare the set on it or measure them. The 7250M set is 0.045, 0.065, 0.085 and 0.105 inches. Enjoy that nice AVRI Jazz!

The aforementioned model is a FSR (Factory Special Run) if I am not mistaken, so it doesn't appear on Fender's website because of that. The best way to find out the string gauge, as brotherdave already mentioned, is either by mailing Fender or by simply measuring the strings yourself. :)
