Hi I'm a secondhand dealer and I just came across this beauty. I'm wondering if you all can help me with info on it, maybe a value and a date it was made. Here are some pictures.

Its a 1990's Fender Jazz Bass. Made in the USA. Looks like custom work has been done to it, but maybe that's my noobie eyes.

It sounds great. I'm a noob bass player and I'm in love with it.

It's a 92. I think it's a "Special". Not sure- I don't stray far from P bass USA Standards and Jazz USA Standards or my 2 MIM P basses. I should know exactly what it is and I should slap myself now. But Sorry I can't tell you all the bells and whistles. However I did play one once and didn't like it. That's not to say yours is junk or anything.

Okay I looked it up--92 Jazz Bass Plus issued originally in 1990---headstock size is reduced--redesigned decals--back routed electronics access- active or passive lace sensor pickups--concentric pots

It has a fatter bridge on it as compared to a Standard USA Jazz

Beat me to it,its was called the JPS or something like it model, smaller headstock but a precision sized neck dimensions, active jazz pick-ups not made for more than a year or two, used to be found very cheap in the used section, now they are considered "RARE" nice basses though,my buddy had a purple plum colored one that was cool.
Not seen much anymore, hold on to it.

There's one hanging at the Music-go-round here for like 300. Strings are 37 inches off the neck. It's filthy gack ridden, hack ,scratched, rusty junk. Just like most of the guitars I run across around here. Just like most guitars I run across with my Jeep-- or should. Other than that it has a curly maple top and is a great bass.
