You know, he's floating now, don't you? You can float too Rev.

Hi Sabre, this would be nice too, AND! There's lots of water so all of you can float.

It's amazing how people think they can hide in the internet. Did you forget about the "Magic Bus Tour"? You know you won't be able to stand it it when "Uncle Bob" comes to Pennsylvania, you'll have to come too. The whole point of this is, he may not like being called "Uncle Bob", (actually, I like it) and he's awfully big.

It's those laid back types you have to be wary of, they never get mad but when they do, look out!

After Rez, Uncle Bob and I hook up,the tour is coming through Biden, South Carolina, then on to Ft. Meyers, where we pick you up, then on to Tampa to get Zod, then we all go to Boca Raton to settle this whole fjbass, super kid thing once and for all.

You can fly tp Pittsburgh for a day or two, bring your laptop. I have room for you. I just bought a nice new shed at Costco, it has a skylight.

Here's the theme for your trip:

This one has a cool little slap break on it. Too bad Trujillo could never get away with something like that in Metallica.

Anyone ever use the "OTHER" nylon strings ? they are made by Rotosound and I believe are called Nylon coated ROUNDWOUNDS, they are a roundwound by have a nylon string wraping, not smooth like a tapewound but gritty feeling if you scratch you fingernail or pic against it,and sound somewhat like a compression wound, sorry cant explain it any other way.

Unfortunately, I live in Berkeley, Ca. Yes I have long hair and a beard, I also dig tie-dye and incense. I have a clown name too though. Chuck U. Farley at your service.

Do you like it as much as "Grampa Ron"? :P :P :P

Both are actually better choices than Uncle Ernie!

On a semi-bass related note. The only 2 songs on Tommy about Child Abuse (Uncle Ernie and Cousin Kevin) were written by John Entwistle as Pete Townsend wrote them into the story but couldn't bring himself to write them.

The entire "Rock Opera" was incredible. Consider when it was written and their respective ages, as well as contributing the two songs, John did all the horn parts too.

They were talented.

Without a doubt, those were great times. Right about then I had a '68 Jazz, two Fender Bassman amps and a lot of other gear that makes me sad to talk about.

I loved Tommy but I think I liked Quadraphenia better. Speaking of totally bombass bass lines you have to love an album that starts with this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pohhMx9EdNc

I love that line. I read an interview with Mike Gordon from Phish and he said that this was the first bass line that he ever learned.

I enjoyed the liner notes included with Quadraphenia......

"His bass sounded like a bleedin' VC10."

If The Ox's bass sounded like anything, it was that!

It's funny that I was born and grew up in Maine. I lived in Miami for about 10 months back in 2000. Now I live in the SF Bay Area.

I went to Miami to try and get settled and start to work as a musician and had no luck. When I looked in "The New Times" under "Live Music" all that was listed was DJ So and So at Such and Such venue, over and over. Although "The Spam Allstars" were playing all the time and they are now one of my favorite groups.

I came to San Francisco for personal reasons. I've started a couple of bands and done some booking. I intern in a recording studio etc. But the live music scene isn't that great. Gentrification has taken hold and alot of the places that had live music can't now due to noise complaints. The venues want bands to play for free and in a last ditch effort to make money venues want bands to buy all of the tickets for the show and guarantee at least $1000 in bar business or the band pays the balance. And SF has a reputation for nurturing new talent.

I went back to Maine about 6 years ago. I picked up a copy of the Casco Bay Weekly/Face Magazine. The funny thing that I noticed was that there was more live music happening in Portland, Maine then in San Francisco, California.

Now I need to get some Cheese.

Rev J
