A guy has this for sale. He says it's mid seventies. Doesn't add up to me. I know my Fenders pretty well but don't remember ever seeing a spaghetti headstock with no other info. It looks like one of the reissues, but I don't know that type very well. Can someone help me with some info on what year you think this might be? Thanks in advance.

No vintage Jazz Bass or a re-issue of one ever used the spaghetti logo. That looks more like an American Deluxe Series. The headstock is identical with the AmDlx models shown in the 2005 Frontine catalog.

That's a Fender "Aplique" Logo -- chrome - definately not mid 70's what so ever.

1998 was the first year (for the chrome logo). It went on the American Deluxe . I had a 98 deluxe P bass- it was a really good bass. I couldn't see the dots on the rosewood fretboard on a dark stage though---- the abalone dots blended in with the board. That caused me some problems. I sold it because I no longer used it at gigs because of it. The logo is the coolest though-- They should put it on all USA guitars I think.
