Hi all,

I've had my Fender jazz for the last 5 or 6 years, but have never been able to identify what kind of jazz bass it is (ie. 62 reissue, American deluxe, et als), and was hoping someone here might be able to satisfy my curiosity. The bass appears to be alder or ash, with a natural finish. It has a N00 serial number on the headstock, made in the USA. It has no pickguard, no control plate, nor screw holes for either. It has active electronics, with two stacked knobs and a third selector knob that chooses active, passive, or off, and the knobs (all of which are black and metal) are in a straight line as opposed to following the curve of the body. The 1/4 input is on the side of the bass instead of the top near the controls with the electronic routing in the rear. The neck is maple with a darker inlayed stripe up the back. The pickups are totally black (covers of some sort??)with no metal dots or brand name showing. I'll try to get some pics up in the next day or two, but any help would be very appreciated... my curiosity about this bass that I love is killing me!

Cheers!
John
