Sort of! :P

When I was a kid I told my dad I wanted to be a musician when I grew up. He said "Son you can't do both."

Stay Brown,
Rev J

What a great line that is, Rev! We've all heard that kind of guidance from parents or relatives....true, they're just looking out for our best interests, but a little encouragement would have been nice too! 8)

I chose to be a musician. Now I'm a 35 year old adolescent. I'll survive.

Stay Brown,
Rev J

It's always amazed me how people place themselves in situations.

Come see young man, come see the pretty balloons! See how they float. We all float down here.

My dad used to say - he's gone now - "We only need to feed you for survival, if you want food that YOU want, go to a restaurant, but I'm not paying, since I paid for the food on the table your mom cooked already!"

"...Granted I'm the weird bassist that wasn't a guitarist first. And since the "Suburban White Boy Funk" Movement of the mid 90's (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, 311, etc.) there have been an increasing number of players that start on bass. On top of that bass players generally have the least glamourous job in the band. That combined with the glut of guitarists and drummers gives us a sense of job security. Since we are pretty much assured of our gigs we can share our "secrets" with each other because we aren't afraid of losing our gigs like guitarists are..."

Stay Brown,
Rev J[/quote]

I would add Entwistle to the list (the WHO) but I have to say Primus is now rekindling my love for bass
