So I brought this up in a thread, but not sure where I should post this. Since I'm a J bassist, I figure I bring it up again here.

Has anyone ever used this? http://neotechstraps.com/mega-strap.html

I bit the bullet and ordered one today, they told me it'll be here (my local store) tomorrow sometime. It's coming from a warehouse in Chicago - apx 4 hrs from Green Bay. They gave me a $30 price, matching the on line retailers - about 20% of list.

Has anyone heard or used it. I think if I like it enough, I might buy another one for my '99 - and maybe another one for the VM, although the VM has a tweed/tan strap that matches the bass already 8)

I'll give a review tomorrow, if the strap does show up as told by the music store :)

I got my GHS Boomers today in the mail, deliberating whether or not to put them on.

Your music store has never let you down yet have they? Maybe a blizzard migh slow things down or something, a moose on the road?

Nah, they're pretty good. No moose here, just huge arse deer. Bigger than the ones by gramma's house in the Poconos for sure. Corn fed I guess

Put the Boomers on!!

OK...so after cursing for about 10 minutes trying to put the strap lock on the Mega Strap, I was able to play the bass with the Mega strap on. It's no noticeable at 1st how nice it is on your shoulder until you don't have to keep adjusting your bass. I was only able to play about 20 minutes, than I had to pick up the kids from school. I'm a believer. I'm getting another one for my '99. As with good straps, the leather ends where the button goes in the strap is really tough. I had to trim it a bit for a proper fit. Two thumbs up from me.

Yeah, it seems the leather ends are always so tight on the quality straps. Levy straps are like that too. I have a few. Even the old Ernie Ball straps are like that too.

Good idea, I'll think I'll do that even though it's spitting snow at the moment.

I've used these exact straps before and they weren't my cup of tea.

I'm on the tall end of the spectrum and I like my bass slung medium low. The strap was too short for me and it looked wierd cuz it was was like an oval shape and a tall guy playing the bass med/low.

I currently use a levy's bass strap which is much more comfortable and can adjust to a must greater range imo.

Yes, it's somewhat pricey but it' does relieve the weight of a 5 string J bass
