Hello Fender Players!
I recently bought a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, it's all great, but personally for me the tone is too weak. I like how that thing growls, but i need the way more LOW's.
I've tried installing SD SPB-3 on my P-bass a years ago, and i loved it.
So now im thinking of installing Quarter Pounder on Geddy. However, i want to hear your thoughts on this.
I've found a funny tone chart on SD web site, which says SJB-2 has more MID's. I'd like to keep that growl, which i really love, i just need more bottom. So im thinking of combination of SJB-3 and SJB-2 combination or both SJB-3.
Feel free to post any of your thoughts on this.
Thanks!

The quarter pounders will sound VERY different than the stock geddy pickups. Quarder pounder jazz pickups are very mid-scooped (more so than the P quarter pounders), whereas the stock geddy PUps are very mid heavy.

What would you recommend for more bottom, punchy & growly sound?

I'm not a Doctor but I would recommend a set of Dimarzio Jazz. NOT the Ultra Jazz Dimarzio's . And adjust the poles to the neck radius. It R good.

I would also recommend getting rid of the BA ll bridge and install a regular Fender bridge. I done that to mine and I like the result- but that's my opinion and we live in a free country- I think.
